Here at Re-Tek we’re always keen to make a difference…
For the last few months Re-Tek, in partnership with Falkirk Council and Valpak, have been proud to support an initiative to promote re-use activities in the Falkirk district recycling centres. This involved the collection of redundant IT such as PCs, Laptops, Printers and Mobile Phones that have come from members of the public.
Re-Tek collected and securely removed all the data from these products using our government approved erasure software. Goods which were fit for purpose were re-sold in order to extend the product lifecycle, reduce the CO2 omissions associated with recycling and provide cost-competitive second-hand equipment for end users.
Revenues generated from the Falkirk Council HWRC reuse sales, as well as a donation from Re-tek, raised £500. This amount was then kindly matched by Valpak, resulting in a £1000 donation to Strathcarron Hospice in Denny, Stirlingshire; an extremely worthy cause who provide specialist care as well as comfort and support for anyone affected by terminal illness.
