How can I be sure that the information on my Hard Drives remains confidential?

A

Re-Tek operates an information security management system based on the principles of ISO/IEC27001. We monitor this to ensure we adequately protect our customers' confidential information through our handling, processing and disposal operations. Our security processes start from the moment we receive equipment and encompass our physical, electronic procedural and personnel security.

Using a fully auditable process, all data is destroyed in a manner compliant with UK Government / CESG and US DOD standards. Where it is not possible to securely wipe the data from a drive, that drive is destroyed via degaussing to CESG standard or crushed utilising a HDC-V CCTM certified crusher. A full serial number data destruction and disk destruction report is available.

Is there a minimum amount of kit that Re-Tek will pick up?

A

No. However, we can only offer buy back on material where the quality and quantity is sufficient to do so.

What do you do with my kit?

A

Re-Tek aim to re-market as much as possible of the material we receive - only recycling when the equipment is non functional or has no market value. Re-Tek recycles on average only 15% of all product received from clients. Of our recycling output, the average resulting landfill is 1% - a figure we are working with our recycling partners to reduce. This means dealing with Re-Tek ensures you are choosing the most environmentally friendly form of IT disposal - supporting the environmental and ethical policies of your organisation

How can I track what I have given you?

A

Your account manager can be provide a status on your equipment at any time from pick up. Once processing is complete, he/she will supply a full management report , including make, model, serial number, asset number, spec information and status of each item of equipment.

Q

How do I know that you have erased my information?

A

Certificates of Data Destruction and Disk Destruction are supplied by your Account Manager. Serial number reports are also available.
